This is a case of the fraudulent identity of Jyoti Ballabh (and possible identity theft of the dozens of women he fakes). If he did obtain a job through his fake resume, this guy need to be arrested and kicked off of MIT campus forever.
He even tricked me! (Congrats dude) I always check very closely for false identities. But this guy managed to trick not only me, I believe he tricked his current employer with a fake MIT education, if he even has one...
But the saddest part is, the only way you can fake yourself to THAT extent is if you have no friends irl.

So this guy named Jyoti Ballabh adds me on Facebook and seems like a very impressive guy. An MIT education, impressive resume, followers on Twitter, many connections and even a few recommendation letters on LinkedIn. His posts and tweets are mostly insightful news items related to MIT, finance, and technology. He's attended events hosted by MIT, posing as a student. His insight into the financial world is impressive. Yay pics!
At first glance, this guy is purely awesome.

Wow, he must be a total genius! It says he's a pioneer in MATLAB, a polyglot, etc. That people have been waiting for so long to finally write a recommendation letter for him:

LOL well here's my breakdown of it:
Jyoti on MIT's campus with my boyfriend's advisor! Who the hell wears an MIT T-shirt to a professional conference is beyond me.
I'm usually very aware of fake personas, but he was pretty damn convincing AT FIRST GLANCE with his knowledge, vast number of connections, and attendance at campus events. But it gets better - he's faking most likely dozens of personas (including a girlfriend lol) and used "them" to write recommendation letters for him.

(In case anyone's curious..) So here's how I finally found out: I was about to comment on one of Jyoti Ballabh's insightful Facebook posts when I noticed that this gorgeous girl commented too - I clicked on her profile and was blown away by her work experience and school.
But something just didn't seem right - her photo was slightly suggestive and sliiightly unusual for a person with a higher education and work experience. I reverse-image-searched her photo and found out that those pics belonged to a totally different person! So I called her out on Facebook for it, without knowing that it's Jyoti Ballabh behind all this, until Jyoti Ballabh defriended me.
Bam. Red flags. Something was clearly not right.
But something just didn't seem right - her photo was slightly suggestive and sliiightly unusual for a person with a higher education and work experience. I reverse-image-searched her photo and found out that those pics belonged to a totally different person! So I called her out on Facebook for it, without knowing that it's Jyoti Ballabh behind all this, until Jyoti Ballabh defriended me.

I Googled him and found out that Jyoti Ballabh is NOT in the MIT directory. Jyoti Ballabh's Tweets are re-Tweeted by many - his many hot-chick personas.
Those fake girls (let's call them Jyoti's Hoes) have super detailed LinkedIn and Facebook accounts! Many of them "worked" at Goldman Sachs, but their position names don't exist at GS. Jyoti Ballabh was charged on my school's campus for trespassing. Not sure what to think of that - it seems like he's a bit obsessed, convincing himself that he really goes to MIT. I'm not sure if Jyoti Ballabh's actually employed on Wall Street, but if it's the truth, then he definitely used a fraudulent identity to obtain it. He claims to have worked at Goldman Sachs a while ago, but I am 100% certain that he didn't (he wasn't in the GS directory or the MIT directory lol).
Okay so how does this relate to me?
Are you fucking kidding me this relates to me in so many ways it's sad! We're competing in the same industry, and his job could've been one of my classmates' or even mine! Also, he's clearly all over MIT campus and going to events hosted my friend's advisor - these are MIT-only events for a really good reason. We pay $50,000 to go to these events and classes and he just gets it free? I posted this on Reddit - BAD MISTAKE - the two commentors were like "it doesn't relate to you, let him be." Are you kidding me? This is a CRIME. I don't care if he's poor or not as privileged because I grew up on food stamps and made it through determination and HONESTY. There are <6 degrees in this world; if you think his actions don't affect me, you clearly didn't read my post. I don't give a flying fuck if I have to spend time telling his story to the world, because I'm doing what's right to me. (I'd like to think that frauds like him are a part of the reason why Wall Street firms struggle so much.) :D

I'm really sorry this is such an elaborate post, but I don't want people like him walking around campus and faking his way to Wall Street. Am I being too harsh on the poor guy? Keep in mind that he may have used a fake resume to obtain a really good job (not sure of the job is real though). Should I take any action or go back to partying?

He reminds me of the role played by Mr John Nash in the movie "A Beautiful Mind". I know that you feel offended because he deleted you from his friend list on FB and so you are trying to blemish his image in public. I think you really like playing with others balls....lol. That is the actual Dell photolist. However - He manages to edit the photos in a way that tineye doesnt work anymore. It doesn't seem that tricky looking around some blogs (ie you don't need to be John Nash).
Dell meeting was in Delhi (which is kinda funny) not US which I thought. So - I don't think we have a confirmed sighting in USA since he got arrested in 2009. The FB posts showing usa etc.. are manipulated. I'm most amazed he got into World Economic Forum - that is some seriously high level shit to scam into. I know some folks there and will give them heads up he is a conman.
So- it seems he isn't the threat to your job you thought - ie if he is really stuck in India. There is no evidence anyone has been conned apart from his old school friends. Surprsingly he knew Merc India Head and they both had personal photographs, I took one of them from his camera. I got to know about his real identity through a person in Chennai in september 2012. I texted him, posted on FB, he once called stating hid dad is ill. Post then no contact after which I really tried hard scouting him at all the plush 5 stars in New Delhi where he used to sit, but was unsucessfull.

Deletehi friends to clear the air and clarify,this guy was one of my seniors in college one of the top five medical colleges of India.He used to have multiple laptops and on internet all the time.Always borrowing money and never returning.Also presumably he was doing some kind of research which no one ever heard of.He even borrowed money from me when i was a fresher and never returned.Never attended any classes or lectures and was detained in the same class for 3 years,even multiple times rusticated from college.And one fine day when i was in my 3rd year of my medical school i heard he was selected for some research projects in MIT and was left for USA.He has no friends in college,always living in his room alone,even his room full of scientific magazines.I seriously doubt he must have tricked in some way into my prestigious Med School or the other.

Huwaaaaaaaaaaaaah.... so this is what this great genius capable of. Lately, I spotted him couple of times in New Delhi's five star hotels, attending all sorts of functions,...press conference, corporate events, fashion shows, book launches and even others marriage events/receptions, mostly without invitations, always dressed in same black jacket and slack. I guess, he has mastered this illegal trespass business in India after getting kicked from United States, eating lunch & dinner on others tab and defrauding chicks from different ethnicities by showing them his fake LinkedIn and facebook profile. I believe, this guy is a total fraud, dellusional and lives in some sort of denial, and trying to live a life that he never achieved, however pretending to live and expects others to belive in. ReplyDeleteIm not Jyoti. Its true that I havent given out my real name and I have a valid reason for that.Il tell you that Im Indian too and Im most definitely not Tom either. I was in touch with Jyoti till a couple of days back.I met him in june in Delhi when I was there on business.I met him at a very famous 5 star hotel.I have his card. He is in India right now and the latest I see on his fb is that he is going out with this female by the name Melica Amina. She seems to be genuine and is a beauty contest winner of some sort apparently. his fb page is flooded with her pics. But I wonder how he gets to go out with her. Must have faked his way i guess.
@shweta : if there are serious allegations against this guy then I have his phone number that he gave me a couple of days back. I dont mind putting it up here but again this is a public forum and I dont know if its right. please create a fake mail id and send me a mail to my fake id and il send you his number. again im making it very clear that the ID i have given here is FAKE as in I just created that one so I can post here. Tom is not my name. I do not want to reveal my real identity and thats why all this faking.
and if there are confirmed charges against this guy, I know someone in delhi who can make sure that he gets arrested. Any way of cross checking the legal details or charges against this guy?

ReplyDeleteFinally all your efforts paid of...and this jerk was caught couple of days ago by Delhi Police on a complain filed by certain NGO Foundation employee, whom he was trying to cheat some INR 10 Lakhs, pretending to be NSE stock broker using his same fake business card that he'd already circulated among some of you.

I was at the ADB Annual Summit, he got my card and we went to some after parties with colleagues. We talked and I expressed an idea, or rather a dream of creating an NGO.
His offer was $12million to help me in any way that i wished. I didn't know what to say - i have no business plan or solid development in management.

This guy almost conned me when i was very young but my consciousness told me something is fishy and I refused to lend him money. I was at the ATM and he was waiting outside, asking for money as he left his wallet at home. He almost had me.
